This one is by far one of my favorites and I’m so glad that we started 2019 with this one. All you need is a tea bag and a match.
This experiment was to prepare for Science Week at my daughter’s elementary school. I’m still amazed at the tons and tons of vegetable oil and cotton balls we used to demonstrate this experiment for 400 kids. But it was so worth it. You can do it to at home with a dab of oil and one cotton ball.
What’s sweeter than getting a Valentine? Getting one you can do an experiment with! This post is complete with a free printable. Great as a teacher’s class give or to give classmates!
Here is a list of our favorite experiments to do when the long days of summer hit. It’s always my favorite to pin and reference when I’m totally out of ideas to entertain the kids.
#3 Our Trip to Dinosaur Valley
One of our favorite “glamping” trips of the year complete with staying in a cabin, finding fossils, and walking in dino footprints. It was amazing and I’m so glad a dear friend of mine asked us to go along on their adventure!
These were the perfect simple ornaments to make this year. We made them with pipe cleaners before the kids went to bed and soaked them in a Borax solution overnight and voila! Beautiful geode ornaments to hang on our tree.
#1 Science Fair Project: Flood Control
And the #1 post of 2018 was for Allie’s science fair project that explored different flood control methods. In 2017, Hurricane Harvey caused major damaged to our family and friends. This was a great way to apply all of the science we do at home to a real life problem. And that is what this blog is really all about, so I love that you loved it too.
Thank you for following along, referring back to posts, and sharing She Loves Science. I’m excited for 2019 and can’t wait to share with you what we’re cooking up this year!
