My mom was a science mom, she was an amazing science teacher. My grandmother was a science mom, she taught countless children about creation. I am a science mom…
I bet you are a science mom too.
This one is for the moms who:
- Spot a rainbow and stop everything they are doing to point it out to their kids.
- Even though they are tired, keep answering their child’s questions about why bees sting and why it’s still light outside at 8PM.
- Take the time to explain how their child’s arm cast works by breaking a pencil and then putting it back together with a piece of tape around it.
- Hear a child’s silent prayer that red flowers would spring up when they bury their pet caterpillar and then go plant red flowers by the grave when the child’s not looking.
- Don’t know the answer but tell their child, “let’s find out together!”
- Picks up two toy trucks and predicts which one will win when they race down a slide.
- Teaches their child to pump their legs to swing higher.
- Say what the heck, and buy contact solution and glue to make slime on a summer day.
- Stay up late researching science fair topics and then gluing the poster board the night before it’s due.
- Accepts little flowers their child picks for them and places it in a little vase (in my case the only thing I had small enough was a little flask)
So this one is for you moms… for everything you answer, feel, and watch in wonder as your child grows loving creation and discovery.
The Dandelion Vase by Jennifer L. Holte
“This vase may be quite tiny,
but its importance is monumental and grand!
For the love that went into each picked ‘flower,’
was carefully chosen by your child’s small hand.”
