Have you finished all the Christmas candy that you’ve collected over the holidays? Does the thought of getting more candy coming into the house for Valentine’s Day makes your teeth hurt! (And yes, I eat my kids leftover candy…😬shhh don’t tell them!😬) So this year why not opt to give your child a non-candy Valentine to give their classmates? Even better, a fun science Valentine at that!
What you need: red card stock, this free printable found here, metal paper clips, red/white twine, hot glue gun, magnets with handle. I found mine here on Amazon (aff link)
What you do:
- Print and cut out hearts
- Hot glue paper clip and one end of twine to back of heart
- Tie end other end of twine on the handle of the magnet
- Give the Valentine with the heart attached to the magnet
And there you go! A unique ‘non-candy’ Valentine that can be used to explore magnetism in your home or classroom long after Valentine’s Day is over!
